Vida Myrle Scott

Vida Myrle Scott, 95, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 10, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Andrews, Texas with Jason Curry officiating. Internment will follow in the Andrews Old County Cemetery in Andrews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 5- 7 PM at the McNett Funeral Home Chapel.

Vida was born on September 4, 1926, in Nimrod, Texas to William Sargent McCann and Maude Annette Parkinson McCann. She graduated from Scranton High School in 1944. She married Forest C. Scott on June 22, 1946, in Cross Plains, Texas, and shared 68 wonderful years with him until his passing in 2014. Forest and Vida moved to Andrews in 1951 and made it their home for 61 years. Vida was an active member of the Andrews Hospital Auxiliary for 40 years. She also kept books for the Downtown Lions Club for 22 years. Vida was a member of the First Baptist Church in Andrews for 61 years until she moved to Lubbock in 2012. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and friend and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by 3 sons: Stanley Scott and wife Judy of Lubbock, Texas; Larry Scott and wife Susan of Snyder, Texas; Carl Scott and wife Renee of Eula, Texas. Grandchildren: Michael Scott and wife Angie; Allison Thomas and husband Kyle; Layne Scott; Jay Scott and wife Meredith; Lee Scott; Lauren Wuthrich and husband Steven; Garrett Scott and wife Loralee; and Megan Scott. Four great-grandchildren: Kylie, Ava, Cameron, and Ivy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
