Ricky Dean Harper, age 68, of Andrews Texas, passed from this life Friday, August 4, 2023, in Odessa, Texas.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 1:00PM, Saturday, August 12, 2023, at The Cross Bar Cowboy Church in Andrews, TX, with Cody Hull officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00PM-8:00PM,

Thursday, August 10, 2023, at McNett Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.

Ricky was born July 8, 1955, in Lovington, New Mexico to Winfred Harper and Clara Lee Turner. He married Linda Eldridge on June 8, 1973, in Andrews Texas and they have spent 50 amazing years together. Ricky was a hardworking family man. He worked at Baker Hughes for 39 years before he retired in 2014. He loved his current job as Fishing and Rental manager at Mustang Well Service. Ricky mentored a lot of people in the Permian Basin Oil and Gas industry. In his early life Ricky was a calf roper and enjoyed traveling to Rodeos. He passed that love on to his boys who competed in Calf Roping and Bull riding at Rodeos when they were growing up. He enjoyed teaching kids about roping and horses while serving as a 4H horse club leader for many years. He loved to go Bass fishing and participated in tournaments. He was a lover of animals; you would always catch him spending time with the animals at the house. Ricky’s pride and joy were his grandchildren. He loved to support them at stock shows where they would show goats and lambs. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He will be dearly missed by many.

Ricky is survived by his wife: Linda Harper; sons: Ricky Harper Jr. and wife Chelsi; and Todd Harper and wife Alicia; brother: Dickie Harper and wife Cindy; grandchildren: Hannah; Hayden; and Mason; niece: Melissa; and nephew: Kevin all of Andrews, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Winfred and Clara Harper.
