Pamela Jean Thornburg Farmer

Pam was born December 30, 1949 in Lynwood, California and passed away March 31, 2023 in Midland, Texas after a long battle with COPD/emphysema. She was preceded in death by her husband Mikel Farmer, parents Otis & Jean Gryder and siblings Debbie Jacobson and Guy Gryder.

Pam was loved by all and had a contagious laugh. She started her career in Medical Records at Permian General Hospital where she made many lifelong friends. She then worked as an assistant probation officer for Andrews County for many years then a manager for Uncle’s convenience store and eventually retired from the Housing Authority of Midland. She raised three children alone with the help of her family. Pam was a loving friend, aunt, mother and most of all Grandma to many. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren fiercely.

She is survived by her three children, Mary Cook (Charlie) of Midland, Tammy Thornburg of Midland and Jason (Theressa) of Cleveland, Texas, three step children, Aaron, Steven and Matt Farmer and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her grandson Anthony Thornburg was her rock during her final days.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the COPD Foundation. Mom did not want a funeral or memorial and had been adamant about that for years and we are honoring her wishes.
