Martha Jean Patterson, Age 92, of Andrews Texas passed from this life Monday, April 10, 2023, in Midland, Texas.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate her life at 10:00AM, Friday, April 14, 2023, at the McNett Funeral Home Chapel, in Andrews, TX, with Brother Glenn Hammock officiating. Burial followed at the Andrews West Cemetery. Viewing was held Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 12:00PM-8:00PM and Thursday visitation was held from 5:00PM8:00PM, at McNett Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.

Martha was born in Woodson, TX, July 15, 1930, to Coral E. Dunlap and Maude Ellen “Manning” Dunlap. She married Charles Patterson January 24, 1950, in Lovington, NM, and they spent 49 amazing years together until his passing on April 15,1999. Martha was a woman with great faith, she was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was a salesclerk at Baker Shoe store in Andrews for 17 years and loved working. Martha was also a very talented baker; she would bake pies and cakes for the local restaurants. She was best known for her amazing red velvet cakes. She loved to spend time at the lake with her husband, even though she hated to fish she loved to be on the boat and do her puzzles. Her whole world was her grandchildren, she would scoop them up from school or daycare and take them with her to the lake every chance she could. Martha loved to iron; her family would say she was better than taking the clothes to the cleaners. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Martha will be dearly missed by many.

She is survived by her 4 daughters: Glenda Ivy of Andrews, TX; Charlene Carter and husband Randy of Andrews, TX; Martha Jenkins of Waco, TX; and Lou Ella Goff and husband Tommy of Quinalan, TX; brother: Melton Dunlap and wife Dottie of Graham, TX; grandchildren: Charles Goff and wife Jodi; Christy Benningfield and husband Devey; Kirby West and wife Nancy; Michael West; Chris Pollet and wife Samantha; Jerrie Cahill; Russel Patterson; and Kevin Patterson and wife Savanna; 25 great grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband: Charles Patterson; parents: Coral and Maude Dunlap; 3 brothers: Joe Ross Dunlap; John Davis Dunlap; and Doug Dunlap; and sister: Betty Lou Smith.
