Jerry Don Hobbs was reunited in heaven with the love his life on January 3rd, 2023.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2023 at the McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, Texas with Stan Huffty officiating. Burial followed at the Andrews North Cemetery. Viewing was held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 5:00PM – 8:00 PM at McNett Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the care of McNett Funeral Home.

Jerry was born in Ralls, Texas on February 27th, 1945 to Jesse M. Hobbs and Kathrine Hardin Hobbs. Jerry married his soulmate Charlotte Gail Bynum on February 5th, 1963 in Morton, Texas. Jerry and Gail moved to Andrews and raised 4 children. Jerry worked for Custom Farmers in his younger years. After moving to Andrews, he broke out into the oil fields of West Texas as a pulling unit operator and then a directional driller until his retirement from Key Energy Services in 2007.

Jerry’s love for his family was immeasurable. His favorite passtime was spending time with Gail, his children and grandchildren and camping by the river in Junction, Texas. He loved to go fishing with his grandbabies, watching them swim in the river, or watch the fireflies, hummingbirds and deer come into feed.

Jerry is preceded in death by his bride of 50 years, Charlotte Gail Hobbs, 1 great granddaughter, Abigail Mae, his parents, Jesse M.Hobbs and Kathrine Hardin Hobbs his brother, Vernie Hobbs, and sisters, Dolly York, Barbara Powers, and Mary Henderson.

He is survived by his 4 children: Donetta Patterson of Andrews, Texas, Chantell and husband Matt Lesly of Andrews, Texas, Lorinda Hobbs of Wickett, Texas, and Craig Hobbs of Andrews, Texas; grandchildren, Alyssa, Michael, Gage, Brandon, Brittney, Christian, Stormy, and Penelope; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Makensy, Xavier, Xzander, Keagen, Aiden, Zaedyn, Lee Lee, Jade, Taygan, Oakleigh, Emily, Lola, and Charlotte.

Pallbearers are Gage Davila, Brandon Patterson, Christian Gonzales, Anthony Yzaguirre, Matt Lesly, Chance Johnson, Ray Rey and Kevin Patterson.
