James Dwight Bailey

James Dwight Bailey, age 80, of Andrews Texas, passed from this life Friday, September 15, 2023, in Andrews, Texas.

No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.

James was born July 21, 1943, in Houston, Texas to Everett and Essie Bailey. He was a strong, independent hard-working man. He worked in the oil field for many years doing various jobs. James had a green thumb and loved to be working in his garden. He also enjoyed woodworking and could build almost anything. He was a lover of animals, but particularly birds. James was an amazing father and had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by many.

He is survived by his son: Dwight Bailey and wife Edna of Seminole, TX; daughter: Deborah Holguin and husband Jose of Andrews, TX.; sister: Mabeline Storey of Montana; 9 grandchildren: Bryan Hernandez; Crystal Cavazos; Kimberly Gonzales and husband Ruben; Jacarei Bailey; Eric Bailey; Justin Bailey; Lakrisha Trevino and husband Cory; Maryssa Holguin; and Josie Holguin; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

James is preceded in death by his parents: Everett and Essie Bailey; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters.
