Fidel Salgado Sanchez, 82, of Andrews passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020 in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at La Nueva Jerusalem Church, 2535 NW Mustang Drive, in Andrews. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 3 – 9 PM on Monday and 9 AM – 9 PM on Tuesday. Prayer services will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the church. Fidel was born on May 24, 1937 in Cuarto Cienegas, Coahuila, Mexico to Donaciano Sanchez and Isabel Salgado Sanchez. He married Diamantina Oyervidez on June 17, 1962 in Ejido La Union Municipio Campos, Coahuila, Mexico, where he ranched. They moved to Andrews in 1981, where he worked as a roustabout and in construction. He loved spending time his family and his grandchildren and feeding the race horses. He loved to go back to Rancho Sinay in Mexico and be on his ranch with his cattle and horses. He was always the “sobador” for everyone and loved them very much. He was a member of La Nueva Jerusalem Church, and he was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings, Manuel, Catarino, Concepcion, Florinda, and Alberto.

Fidel is survived by his loving wife, Diamantina Sanchez of Andrews, 7 children, Fidel Donaciano and Noemi Sanchez, Jose Humberto and Lydia Sanchez, Alicia Sanchez, Alfredo and Cruselda Sanchez, Jorge Luis and Maricela Sanchez, and Veronica Hortenica Sanchez and Rigoberto Lujan, all of them from Andrews, and Jesus and Mariana Oyervidez of Stanton, 18 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
