Edwin A. Brenholtz

Edwin A. Brenholtz of Venice, Florida (formerly of Andrews) died on January 14, 2020. He was 92 years old. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He moved to Andrews in 1953 and taught sixth grade until 1957 when he became principal of San Andres Elementary School. He kept that position until 1966 when he was named curriculum director. From 1967 to 1971 he served as superintendent of schools. He was a charter member and elder of Andrews Presbyterian Church. After leaving Andrews he worked at the Texas Education Service Center in Midland/Odessa.

He is survived by his son David Brenholtz and daughter-in-law Jo Beth Brenholtz of Lubbock; his daughter Carol Puryear and son-in-law Jim Puryear of Venice, FL; his grandson John Brenholtz of Lubbock, granddaughter Amy Davis and her husband Tobin Davis of Dripping Springs, TX; and three great-grandchildren: Connor Brenholtz, Turner and Emory Davis.
