Deana Dolores Lloyd Boykin passed away peacefully on May 20, 2022, at age 82 in Granbury, TX, from complications of vascular dementia.

Born in Jal, New Mexico, on April 9, 1940, Deana was the second of three children and only daughter of Audie and Ben Lloyd. Deana spent her formative years in the place she always thought of as home, Andrews, TX.

Deana attended Lubbock Christian College and then transferred to Abilene Christian University to finish her Teaching Degree. Shortly after graduating, during the summer of 1963, Deana met the love of her life, David Boykin, and they married later that year. Over the next almost 10 years they had 3 children together before David was called to his heavenly home way too soon in July of 1973.

Deana and family later moved to Arkansas to raise chickens, cows, horses and learn to work hard. The family gained some really sweet friends who are still precious in their hearts. Life was life and it led her back to West Texas and eventually able to finish her career in Andrews before retiring and returning to her roots to substitute teach young minds.

While retired, Deana stayed busy with sewing and quilting groups, enjoying her grandchildren and visiting or playing games with her many lifelong friends.

Deana was preceded in death by her husband, David Boykin, parents, Ben and Audie Lloyd and her brother Benny Lloyd and wife Carolyn.

Deana is survived by her brother Michael Lloyd and wife Sandy; her children, Darryl Boykin and wife Heather, Jan Douglas and husband Gaylan, Kathy Myers and husband Byron; her grandchildren Gatlin and wife Jenna, Schyler and husband Noah, Delanie, Reagan, Reed, Brailyn, Taite, Hunter and Dyllen; great granddaughter Erynn; and by her nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

The family laid her to rest beside her loving husband at Andrews Cemetery in Andrews, TX and a graveside celebration of life will be held in the near future to allow time for all family and friends who wish to attend.
