Darla Luane McNett, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 23, 2023, in Andrews, TX. Born on October 2, 1941, in Brownfield, TX, to Duane and Lillian Dumas, Darla grew into a strong, highspirited woman who never met a stranger.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00AM, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the Andrews County West Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Chapman officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.

Darla’s early education led her to study Business, a field that would later influence her professional life. On March 1, 1980, she married the love of her life, Dean McNett, and together they built a beautiful life in Andrews, TX. For many years, Darla was the proud owner of the school store in Andrews, serving the community with a warm smile and a friendly word.

Darla was a woman of many passions. She was a talented artist who found great joy in painting. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her beautiful garden, where she spent countless hours tending to her flowers. Darla’s adventurous spirit led her to travel extensively, with Colorado and Silver Dollar City, Missouri being among her favorite destinations. However, it was her unwavering faith that truly defined her. She read her Bible every day, drawing strength and comfort from its teachings.

Darla was blessed with a large and loving family. She is survived by her husband, Dean McNett of Andrews, TX., her sons, Bobby Mishler of Bryan Station, TX, and Robert LaRue and his wife Kristie of Andrews, TX. She also leaves behind her daughter, Cheryl Denise LaRue and her husband Tod George of Andrews, TX, her sister, Brenda Vo and her husband Anh of San Marcus, TX., three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, her son, Don Paul LaRue, her brother, Dennis Dumas, sister, Barbara Dumas, and two of her greatgrandchildren.
