Barbara was born on March 5, 1934 in Clovis, New Mexico to T.J. Helvey and Frankie Rush Helvey. She married James Hathcock on January 6, 1953. Affectionately known as Baba by all of her grandchildren, Barbara was a pillar of the family. She spent the majority of her life in Andrews and was very active in the Church of Christ. She is also survived by grandchildren Jenny Davis, Lance Davis (Jordan), Joey Davis (Mindy), Toby Verhines, Katie Verhines, Jessica Parker, Shawn Ward, Shannon Israel, Shawna Hallman (Curtis), Dallas Hathcock and great-grandchildren Carrie Stewart (Shane), Camryn Norsworthy, Harrison Bartlett, Jude Davis, Everett Davis, Lyla Davis, Conor Davis, Declan, Maddie and Kenssie Ward. She is also survived by one brother, Frank Helvey of Hondo, Texas. She was predeceased by husband James Hathcock, sister Tommie Pounds and brother Kenny Helvey.
