Adolfo Avila Acosta, 36, a resident of Hobbs NM, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Adolfo was born September 24, 1985, in Van Horn, TX.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 21, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews, Texas. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery, under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include, Eric Garcia, Romi Flores, John Presley, Clint Agnew, Javier Rodriguez, Rob Badger, Nicholas Pankrats, and Carlos Flores. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-9 PM, Thursday, from 9AM- 10PM, followed by a Rosary at 7PM at the McNett Funeral Home Chapel.

Adolfo was raised in Andrews TX, he attended High School, graduating in 2004. He then received an athletic training scholarship to New Mexico Junior College in 2004 – 2006 and University of the Southwest in 2007 – 2011, where he studied Kinesiology. Captain Adolfo Acosta worked for Superior Security Services since 2015. His sisters called him the gentle giant, which he was so caring and loving, yet will protect you with all his might. He was so hilarious; you could not help but laugh until your stomach hurt at times. The intelligence he had was extraordinary; he took pride in being called a nerd. Adolfo is cherished by many friends who developed close relationships. He loved to camp, hike, play video games, read, and go to the firing range. He loved traveling and experiencing life in different areas, Chicago, California, New York, Tennessee, etc. He truly lived life on his terms.

He is survived by his mother Teresa Acosta and Todd Ashbacher, Father Octavio Acosta with his wife Armida, sisters Blanca Acosta, Angelica Loya and her boyfriend Carlos Flores, nieces Amilia, Emma, Selma, brothers/best friends Eric Garcia, Romi Flores. Also, his beloved cat/child Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his younger brother Octavio Acosta Jr. (2015) whom he loved dearly.
