Graveside services for Robert Houtchens, (Bob) age 88 of Andrews, Texas were held Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Gaines County Cemetery with Rev. Robert Wingrove officiating. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mr. Houtchens was born in Amarillo, Texas January 26, 1934 to Anna Belle (Long) and Robert Harrison Houtchens. He married Peggy (Bradford Robertson) Houtchens in Brownfield, Texas on September 26, 1961; they were married for fiftyeight happy years until Peggy’s death in April 2020. He was a Baptist and had served his county in the United States Army. He worked as a clerk for thirty-eight years for Sid Richardson and Perry R. Bass Company; he had also worked for eight years for the Midland International Airport. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed playing cards and watching his greatgrandson Braydon, race his dirt bike.

Bob gained his angel wings on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Permain Residential Care Center in Andrews, Texas. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife Peggy Houtchens in 2020; one son, Robert Robertson; two sisters, two brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law. He is survived by one son, Richard Robertson of Lewisville, Texas; one daughter, Regina Stowe and husband Wayne of Andrews, Texas; two sisters–in-law, Melba Turner and husband Charles of Kalispell, Montana, and ReMona Cherry and husband Preston of San Angelo, Texas; two grandsons, James Robert (Jimbob) Cloud and wife Holly of Midland, Texas, and Brody G. Cloud and wife Kandice of Andrews, Texas; four greatgranddaughters, Avery, Ella, and Addison Cloud, all of Midland, Texas, and Celee Cloud of Clovis, New Mexico; one greatgrandson, Braydon Cloud of Andrews, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
