Recia Morene Clemmer

On Sunday, August 28, 2022, Recia Morene (nee Smith) Clemmer, 92, of Midland, joined her husband Don in eternal life where they will spend their days walking hand in hand through the green valleys of Heaven. Recia was born on September 10, 1929, to parents Grady L. Smith and Bertha (nee Riley) Smith in Jones County, Texas. She had two sisters (Lou Ann and Florine) and a brother (Grady.) Her father worked on a Ranch in Jones County where Recia spent her early childhood. Eventually her father opened a General Store/Service Station in Hamby. Working in the store was Recia’s first job when she was old enough to pump gas and run the register. She attended Abilene High School. For many years, Recia worked at First National Bank in Andrews. Recia was a lifelong Methodist and member of the church wherever she lived. She married the love of her life, Don G. Clemmer, on March 16th, 1950. They had three children. A daughter, Donna who died at birth and two sons, Monty S. Clemmer and Larry D. Clemmer. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, son Larry, and two sisters Lou Ann Cook and Florine Smith. Recia is survived by her son Monty his wife Tricia, granddaughters Lauren Wolf, Kellye Clemmer her husband Lorenzo Casarez and her great-grandson Kruz Casarez. She is also survived by her brother Grady Smith his wife Karen, a niece Donna Kelley and as well as several great-nieces and greatnephews. Recia and Don were long time members of Andrews Country Club where they played golf almost daily. They enjoyed the game of golf so much, they even played when they were on vacation in Hawaii! She continued to enjoy golf long after her playing days were over. Even though she no longer played, you could usually find her watching a tournament on TV. She also loved to shop, enjoyed a delicious meal out with family and loved a good glass of wine or ice-cold beer.
