Opaline Porter, 86, of Andrews TX passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, March 7, 2022, in Andrews, Texas.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate Opal’s life at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 10, 2022, at The McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, Texas with Cameron Presson and Chris Heronema Officiating. Burial followed at the Andrews North Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Brad Mayo, Jeff Mayo, Stacy Montague, Johnny Hays, Hesston Montague, and S.W. Montague. Honorary Pallbearers will include Seth Mayo, Kade Mayo, Colt Hays, Jacob Valdez, and Zaelyn Mayo. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 9,2022 from 6 PM - 8 PM. At The McNett Funeral Home. Arrangements under the care of McNett Funeral Home.

Opal was born November 24, 1935, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to Joseph Daniel Presson and Leecie “Herrick” Presson. She married Charlie Porter on November 17, 1979, in Odessa, Texas and they spent 29 wonderful years together until his passing in 2007. Opal loved to do crafts of all kinds. She was an animal lover especially her poodles. Opal was a wonderful grandmother; she loved to play dominoes and stay up as late as possible with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed being outside, especially if she was working in her yard. Opal was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, she will be dearly missed.

Opal is survived by her daughter: Liz Hays of Andrews, TX.; brother: Butch Presson and wife Nina of Seagraves, TX.; sister: Jane Curtis of Seagraves, TX.; son-in-law’s: Butch Mayo of Hobbs, NM.; and Robin Snell of Hobbs, NM.; 7 grandchildren: Joana Heronema and husband Chris, Brad Mayo and wife Becca, Jeff Mayo, Johnny Hays Jr. and wife Griffin; Jamie Montague and Husband Stacy, Jennifer Hays and wife Ashley Cagle, and Lisa Rodriguez; 16 great grandchildren; 2 greatgreat grandchildren; and friend and caregiver for 11 years: Diane Trevino.

Opal is preceded in death by her husband: Charlie Porter; daughters: Barbara Mayo, and Peggy Snell; parents: Joseph Daniel and Leecie Presson; brothers: Leamon Presson, Glenn Presson, and Leonard Presson; sister: Joy Ervin; son-in-law: Johnny Hays Sr.; 2 grandsons: Heath Snell and Daniel Snell; and 3 great grandchildren.
