Nancy Ann Helvey

Nancy Ann Helvey, age 84, of Andrews, TX, passed away, July 18, 2022, in Midland, TX.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM Monday, July 25, 2022, at The Andrews County West Cemetery in Andrews, Texas, with Mike Bryant Officiating. A visitation will be held Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 5PM- 7PM at the home of Nancy Helvey. Arrangements are under the care of McNett Funeral Home.

Nancy was born December 28, 1937, in Houston, Texas to Jack D. Bailey and Bernice “Morris”. She married Kenneth L. Helvey May 20, 1960, in Andrews, TX, and they spent 42 amazing years together until his passing in 2002. Nancy was everyone’s Nana and loved everyone like her own. She was an extremely hard worker and very dependable. Nancy worked 40 hours a week all the way up to 82 years old. She had a passion for bookkeeping and worked as one for many oilfield companies around Andrews. Nancy loved to be with her grandchildren and adored her fur babies. She was known for her pimento cheese. Nancy was a wonderful mother, and amazing Nana and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her 3 daughters: Laura Smith and husband Craig of Odessa, TX; Julia Shirley and husband Roy of Andrews, TX; and Valarie Helvey of Andrews, TX; grandchildren: Christy Eckert and husband Travis of Midland, TX; Cymbre Bryant and husband Mike of Dalhart, TX; Hunter Emfinger and wife Angela of Andrews, TX; Sumer Hill and husband Scott of Andrews, TX; and Rani Allen of Midland, TX; and 10 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth L. Helvey; parents: Jack and Bernice Bailey; brothers: Jim Bailey, and Charles Bailey; and sister: Dorothy Harmon.
