Maxine I. Kinney, 77, of Andrews passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020 in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Second Baptist Church, 107 NW 7th Street, in Andrews with Pastor Kevin Covington officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Maxine was born on October 29, 1942 in Baird, Texas to Henry William Wolfe and Vivian Inez Gordon Wolfe. She was raised in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School in 1960. She married Charles Edward Kinney on August 1, 1960 in Andrews. She worked for many years at the Andrews Literacy Program teaching adults how to read. She really enjoyed that program and the people, and many of them would see her and thank her for her assistance. She was the president of the Al-Anon in Andrews for many years. She loved people and was always a great host for her children and their friends. She enjoyed the many family vacations together, and she was known to be loving and fun. Her greatest joy was to play and spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a Baptist and was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 sisters Nadean Shipley and Marion Haile.

Maxine is survived by her husband, Charles E. Kinney of Andrews, 2 children, Tammie Hernandez and husband, Donny, of Andrews and Terri Sanders and husband, Mark, of Spring Branch, 1 brother, Larry Wolfe of Andrews, 3 sisters, Carolyn Myers of Odessa, Janice Brown and husband, Benny, of Andrews, and Shirley McWilliams and husband, Bobby, of Greenwood, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Andrews Literacy Program.
