Mary Ellen Ham

Mary Ellen Ham, age 78, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Hendrick Medical Center North.

A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Domingo Castillo.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Mary was born June 15, l943 in Sweetwater, Texas to Alfonso Gutierrez, Sr. and Ignasia “Nancy” Espino Gutierrez. She worked as a health caregiver for Outreach Health Services for many years before retiring. She was a Baptist.

She had been a resident of Sweetwater since 1995, moving from Andrews, Texas. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and sister. Her family was her pride and joy.

She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Ann Lopez and husband Manuel of Sweetwater, Texas, Barbara Ann Cobos and husband Jesus of Andrews, Texas, and Dolores Jean Galvez and husband Anthony of Rhode Island, two sons, Michael Ray Aguero and wife Krista of Andrews, Texas and Ronald Gene Ham and wife Kelly of Andrews, Texas, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, brothers, Rumaldo Gutierrez, Pete Gutierrez and wife Rosa, Dolores “Lolly” Gutierrez and wife Mary, and George Gutierrez and wife Lisa, sisters, Esther Castillo and husband Domingo, Linda Medellin, Lupe Gutierrez, and Gloria McFadin and husband Allen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso Gutierrez, Sr. and Ignasia “Nancy” Gutierrez, brothers, Alfonso “Ponchie” Gutierrez, Jr., Arnulfo “Shooky” Gutierrez, Samuel “Sammy” Gutierrez, Robert Raul Gutierrez, and sister, Christina Salinas.

Pallbearers will be Josh Lopez, Rodney Lopez, Matthew Cagle, David Cagle, Dylan Ehrenberg, and Jesse Cobos.
