Maria 84, of Van Horn, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2022, in Andrews, Texas.
Friends and Family gathered to celebrate her life on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, from 6:00PM – 9:00PM at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, Texas. Cremation is under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.
Maria was born on January 29, 1938, in San Diego; Santa Barbara Chihuahua, Mexico to Candelario Ramos and Consuelo Sanchez. She was a strong, independent woman. She always put God first, her faith could move mountains. Her favorite bible verse was “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” - Philippians 4:13. She loved seeing her family. Although she could be very blunt, she would also give her last dollar away to whoever needed it. She believed in giving without expecting anything in return. Everyone knew her as a hard worker. She loved to garden and grow many fruits. She was a big 49ers fan and loved to watch TV and sports. Although she had many trying circumstances - her love and attitude towards life never changed. She will be missed by many.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, her son Audias Gamez; her brother Porfirio Sanchez Ramos; and her sisters Margarita Ramos Alvarado and Gloria Ramos Nevarez.
She is survived by her brother Sylvestre Ramos Sanchez of Clovis, NM; her sister Yvonne Munoz of El Paso, TX; her daughters, Yesenia Gamez and husband Rogelio Arevalo of Pharr, TX; Connie Gamez of Andrews, TX; and Dora Barboza and husband Johnny Barboza of Andrews, TX; her granddaughters, Tiffany Gamez and husband Juan Carlos Pimentel of Alamo, TX, Bianca Gamez, Delliah Gamez, Chassity Urias and husband Eugenio Urias of Odessa, TX, Marice Escobar and husband Justin Escobar of Andrews, TX, Melanie Coomer and husband Kyle Coomer of Andrews, TX, and Hilary Barboza; grandsons, Joseph Gamez, Audias Gamez Jr., Carlos Martinez, Christian Martinez, Rojelio Gonzales Jr., Jason Barboza and Jonathan Barboza. And her great grandchildren, Jayse, Kye, Kade, Kash, EJ, Alexander, Jordyn, Demarius, and Madilyn.
