Lawrence Melvin Freeze, 90, of Andrews, Texas, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM Friday, July 29, 2022, at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Glenn Hammack officiating. Interment followed in the Andrews West Cemetery. Viewing was from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 28, 2022.

Lawrence was born on November 25, 1931, in Beeville, Texas, to William Andy and Jewel ‘Jones’ Freeze. He married the love of his life, Arthurene Kelly in Aransas Pass, Texas, on November 23, 1950. They were married for 71 happy years. Lawrence worked for Arco Oil and Gas for 36 years and held jobs in Aransas Pass, Refugio, Denver City and Andrews. He was a member of the House of Mercy Ministries. Lawrence was always faithful to his church and enjoyed driving the church bus to pick up the children. He loved to tell stories and was a jack of all trades. He had a gift for working on car engines and motorcycles. He loved to ‘tinker’ on things and could always come up with a solution for anything needing repair. He was known as a kind, sweet and gentle man. He was a wonderful dad and the best Paw Paw to all his grandchildren. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, son Ricky, and brother, Roy Lee.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Artie Freeze of Andrews, Texas, son Larry and wife Ginger of Bryan, Texas, daughters Marsha McCance and husband Rick of Savannah, Texas, Lisa Atkins and husband Mark of Andrews, Texas, and daughter in law, Dena Freeze of Wichita, Kansas. He had 10 grandchildren-Angela and Marcus Freeze, Ryan and Brandon Atkins, Kimberly Christian, Melissa and Dustin McCance, Amber Carter, Candice and Trisha Freeze along with 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Atkins, Brandon Atkins, Marcus Freeze, Dustin McCance, Paul Christian, and Guinn Freeze.
