June Fay Voorhies

June Faye Voorhies age 91, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 in Odessa, TX. She was born June 1, 1930 to Theodore Elmore and Maggie Ellen (Mosley) Owens. June married John Voorhies December 13, 1947 in Dublin, TX., and they spent 69 beautiful years together until his passing in 2017.

Funeral Services were held at 2pm on Wednesday, November 11, 2021 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Brant O’Conner officiating. Burial followed at the Andrews North Cemetery. Pallbearers will include: Michael Voorhies, Jackie Voorhies, Brent Gray, Brad Gray, Jason Banta, Johnathan Banta, Jared Banta, and Trent Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will include: Megan Dushane, Bailey Martin, and Susie Voorhies.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 1-8pm at Mcnett Funeral Home. The family received friends from 6-7pm. Please Celebrate the life of June by visiting www. mcnettfuneralhome. com.

June was a life long member of the First Baptist Church in Andrews, TX. She worked in the day care at the church, and was a member of the senior choir. She was strong in her faith and loved her church very much. June loved to travel, especially to her cabin at Proctor lake. She enjoyed playing Dominos, sewing, and being outside with her family. June was a loving mother, grandmother and wife she will be dearly missed.

June is survived by her son: Johnny Voorhies and wife Debora of North Zulch, TX.; daughters: Judy Banta of Austin, TX.; Denese Gray and husband Clay of Eula, TX.; and Lisa Dushane of Andrews, TX.; grandchildren: Susie, Michael, Jerry, Aaron, Jackie, Jason, Jonathan, Jared, Brent, Brad, Megan, and Bailey; and 21 great-grandchildren.

June is preceded in death by her husband: John Voorhies; Son: Michael Jay Voorhies; parents: Theodore and Maggie Owens; and 6 brothers and sister.
