Jon Steven Carroll
Jon Steven Carroll, 73, of Andrews, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Hammack officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joseph Espinoza, Tyler Logue, Manni Rondon, Nick Salcido, Alvino Sanchez and Donovan Haynes.
Jon was born on June 26, 1949 in Muscatine, Iowa to Richard Dean Carroll and Mary Louise Oberhaus Carroll. He married Glenda Faye Nance on February 11, 1974 in Andrews, Texas. They were married 27 years when Glenda passed away in 1999. Jon graduated from Andrews in 1968. Jon then served in the United States Army for less than one year and was medically discharged from the Army. Jon then met his wife Glenda and soon after started their own family. They welcomed Kevin in November of 1978 and then Kimberly in 1980. In 1982 Jon and Glenda took sole custody of Glenda’s three brothers to raise as their own, Michael 13, Ronnie 11 and Mark 9. In January of 1984, Sarah was the last child to be born. Jon worked in the oil field most of his life, 50 years to be exact.
Jonenjoyedwatching the Dallas Cowboys and every fall Friday night you could bet you would see him in the stands cheering on the Mighty Mustangs! Jon loved his family very much. He was always involved with any and everything his kids or grandkids were involved in. Jon’s true happiness came from his grandchildren. Jon’s grandchildren were Katelynn, Brookelynn, Tyler, Chloe and Rylee all of Andrews. Jon shared such an amazing and passionate bond with each of them. Jon also had two greatgranddaughters in which he thought hung the moon, Lyle and Leilani as well as three bonus great-grandchildren, Aubree, Emily and Ezra. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary Carrroll, wife, Glenda Carroll, daughter, Tamara Carroll and daughter-in-law, Theresa Carroll.
Jon is survived by his son, Kevin Matthew Carroll of Andrews, Texas, daughters, Kimberly Ann Carroll of Andrews, Texas and Sarah Jean Carroll and husband Louis David Cornejo of Andrews, Texas, brothers, Tom Carroll and wife Lori of Branson, Missouri, Pat Carroll of Odessa, Texas and Joe Carroll and wife Martha of San Antonio, Texas, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces and 4 nephews.
