Jesus Gallegos Salcido, Jr., age 74, of Andrews, TX, passed away, July 13, 2022, in Odessa, TX.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life at 11:00 AM Friday, July 15, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews, Texas. Pallbearers will include his six grandsons. A Rosary was held Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 7PM-9PM at the McNett Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the care of McNett Funeral Home.

Jesus was born March 30, 1948, in Fort Davis, Texas to Jesus Salcido and Josephine Gallegos. He married Myrna Garza, his high school sweetheart, on March 17, 1968, in Fort Davis, TX, and spent 54 amazing years together. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, from 1969 to 1971, and was awarded the Bronze Metal in Combat. Jesus was a hardworking man who worked in the oil field most of his life but also enjoyed carpentry. He was a true Dallas Cowboys Football fan. He loved to draw, listen to music, watch old western movies and BBQ with his family. Jesus adored his children and his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather and he will be truly missed.

Jesus is survived by his wife: Myrna Salcido of Andrews, TX; sons: David Salcido of Andrews, TX; and Jesse Salcido and wife Anna of Andrews, TX; daughters: Deborah Pina and husband Danny of Odessa, TX; and Crissy Salcido of Andrews, TX; brothers: Jimmy Salcido and wife Carmen of Ft. Davis, TX; and LeeRoy Salcido and wife Yolanda of Ft. Davis; sister: Linda Bentley and husband Johnny of Odessa, TX; and grandchildren: Jordan, Jacob, Joshua, and Jadyn Pina, Sam and Kathryn Salcido, Nicholas, Naialee, and Nathan Salcido. He is preceded in death by his parents: Jesus and Josephine Salcido; and brother: Henry Salcido.
