Jesus Carrasco

Jesus Carrasco was born on May 11, 1960 in El Paso, TX and passed away on February 12, 2022 in his home in Andrews Texas.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews, Texas. Visitation was on Friday from 1:00 – 9:00 PM, followed by a rosary at 7:00 PM at McNett Funeral Home Chapel.

Jesus was raised in Odessa, TX and grew up as an Alter Boy at Saint Anthonys Catholic Church. Jesus enjoyed ROTC cadets and played the drums in band at Odessa High School. Starting off in karate he eventually became a black belt in Tae kwon do and was a boxing champion he embraced the discipline of both sports and had to take classes to defend himself of bullies when he was young. He was a natural protector. Stubborn as a bull but a gentle giant with a loving soul. Jesus was also a dancing king in his day and won many dances competition with his smooth dance rhythms. A great lover of music he was known as a DJ for the night life in Odessa, TX and a self-proclaimed Stud. Everywhere he went you could hear his Bose speaker playing a mass variety of songs. Jesus was told many times to turn it off when he was in public places, but he didn’t care because he believed music was life and would even turn it up louder. A grand character who marched to the beat of his own drum. Jesus loved all sports especially football. As a Dallas Cowboys fan at heart, he was a true fan of the game itself and even played Semi Pro. When his sons were growing up he enjoyed coaching them in Pop Warner football for four years for the Station Raiders in Stanton, CA. A great mentor to many of his nieces, nephews and his sons’ friends he always gave sound advice. A hero to many, he was humble, genuine, an extraordinary hard-working man and so much more. Jesus was a loving father, a committed husband, a great uncle, a chosen God parent to many children and a friend to everyone. Always waving his hand saying hello and always smiling. Jesus loved to tell jokes and stories but most of all wanted to know if you were happy in life, love and spirit.
