James Melton “Whitey” White

James Melton “Whitey” White, Sr., 72, of Mauriceville passed away after a lengthy illness on August, 6 2019.

James was born in Poplarville, Mississippi, on June 5, 1947, to James Martin and Bonnie Lea White. He lived in Mauriceville for the past 24 years with his wife, Janeene. He was noted for his artistic creativity and craftsmanship with examples throughout their home. Also, was an adventurous and life loving person with many hobbies and interests.

James worked as a draftsman for Bell Engineering in the later years of his career. He also served in the Navy aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Independence and was a graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont.

James is survived by his loving wife, Janeene, of 53 years. Also, two sons and their families, James “Jamey” White, Jr., his wife Lisa of Glendale, CA and Travis Joel White, his wife Pam, and grandson Ethan White of Orange, Texas. Also grandson Austin White, his wife Brook and daughter Rayleigh of Clovis, N.M.

James is also survived by a sister, Frances “Betty” Goad of Denver City, brother, Kenny White of Heath, Texas and Robert White of Poplarville, Mississippi and numerous other loving nieces and nephews and family members.

A memorial service is planned to be held in their home on August, 17 2019 at 1:00PM.
