Jackie Dodd Bistline passed away on August 26, 2022 after a courageous 23 year battle with cancer. Jackie was born in Andrews, Texas on April 20, 1959 to H.S. “Jack” Dodd, Jr. and Mary Nell Dodd Esquirell. She loved growing up in Andrews and while in high school, she excelled at twirling and was named Miss Andrews High School in her 1977 graduation year. She then continued her education at Texas A&M University where she obtained a degree in Marketing in 1981. It was at A&M in 1979 where she met her future husband, Dale Bistline. They married in 1981 with a marriage that lasted 41 years. They moved to Austin in 1983 where they raised their two sons, Wesley and Kyle. Jackie ultimately chose to be a stay-at-home mom which allowed her to participate in as many school, church, and athletic activities as possible.

After the children were grown, Jackie developed a passion for gardening, travel, and a deep appreciation for wildlife. She loved the Lord, anything to do with Texas A&M, country music, and most of all her dear friends and family. She will long be remembered for her beautiful smile, caring heart, and deep devotion to her family, and the loving home she created for them.

Jackie was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband, Dale, and sons Wesley, Kyle and his wife Erika, and sister Marilyn Cayless.

The family would like to thank the staff of M.D. Anderson, Texas Oncology, St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, and Hospice Austin for their care and compassion throughout her battles, and especially these past few months. They would also like to thank family and friends who so lovingly supported her.

A memorial service will be held at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10th. The funeral home is located at 9700 Anderson Mill Road Austin, Texas 78750. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center either online at gifts.mdanderson.org or by check to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center P.O.
