Gloria Lopez Nuñez, 62, of Andrews passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 19, 2019 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Deacon Jose Gallegos and Adrian Gonzales officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery. Rosary services will be recited at 7:00 PM Friday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Please celebrate her life by visiting www.mcnettfuneralhome.com.

Gloria was born on March 30, 1956 in Weslaco, Texas to Emiliano Lopez, Sr. and Blandina Aguiñaga Lopez. She was raised in Welch and graduated from Dawson High School and attended Odessa College. She married Julian Nuñez, Jr. on April 16, 1977 in Lamesa. She had lived in Seminole, Crane, and moved to Andrews in 1980. She had worked for Permian Regional Medical Center and Dr. Redmond from 2001 – 2013. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them. She loved being with her grandchildren and watching her granddaughters play softball. She loved football and watching the Houston Texans and J.J. Watt. She enjoyed music, dancing, margaritas, and enjoyed her children’s pets. She will be remembered as “Nana” and as a caring and fun-loving wife and mother. She was Catholic and was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jorge Lopez.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Julian Nuñez, Jr. of Andrews; 4 children, Gabriel Nuñez and wife, Brenda, of Andrews, Christopher Daniel Nuñez of Midland, Trish Cordova and husband, Jaime, of Andrews, and Jaime Antonio Nuñez and wife, Julia, of Andrews; 4 siblings, Reina Barrera of Odessa, Emiliano Lopez, Jr. and wife, Elsa, of San Antonio, Terri Hernandez and husband, Roland, of Lubbock, and Victor Lopez of Odessa; sister in law, Emelda Hewtty of Stanton; and 5 precious grandchildren, Madelynn Nuñez, Caitlyn Cordova, Malachi Nuñez, Lauren Cordova, and Evalyn “Chunkie” Cordova.

Gloria loved having flowers and plants, so please honor her by sending them to the funeral.
