Dorothy Laverne Hart

Dorothy Laverne Hart, 93, of Andrews left this life to be at home forever with the Lord on December 25, 2021, in Andrews, Texas. She was born on August 22, 1928, in Decatur, Texas to Pearson Hollingsworth and Margaret “Crunk” Hollingsworth.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate her life at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 30, at McNett Funeral Chapel with Pastor Leslie Boone officiating. Visitation was open from noon to 8pm on Wednesday, December 29th at McNett Funeral Home.

Dorothy loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed watching Football and Baseball. Her Favorite teams where the Dallas Cowboys, the Yankees, the Atlanta Braves, and the Chicago Cubs. She loved to go fishing and be outdoors. Dorothy was a fantastic mother she loved to have her girls around as much as possible, they loved to play skipbo, card games, and 42. She also loved to county western dance and was on a bowling league for many years. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Pearson and Margaret Hollingsworth, 1 brother, and 6 sisters.

Dorothy is survived by her son: Lenis Pipkin; daughters: Judy Slaughter and husband Larry of Andrews, Texas.; and Diana Connolly and husband Tom of Andrews, Texas.; brothers: Alvin Hollingsworth and wife Carolyn of Lubbock, Texas.; and Cecil Hollingsworth of Utah; sisters: Mollie Archer and husband Eldon of Oklahoma; and Pearl Kemp of Andrews, Texas.; grandchildren: Randy Kinsey, Michelle Presley, Michael Connolly, Kacee Dunavan, Christie Moses, Jennie Pipkin, Kyle Pipkin, and Travis Shackford; 15 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank PRCC for the love care that was given to our mother during her stay.
