Dora “Gwen” Alcorn

Dora “Gwen” Alcorn, 98, of Andrews TX passed away on, September, 4, 2021 in Andrews, Texas.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate her life at 2:00 PM Friday, September 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Andrews Old Cemetery. The family received friends the previous day from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McNett Funeral Home.

Gwen was born in Sweetwater, TX on August 11, 1923, to John Luna and Sarah Josie Boyles. She married the love of her life Charles Alcorn in Sweetwater, Texas in 1940. They enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and visiting with neighbors and friends. Gwen certainly loved traveling with her late husband Charles. They traveled to many places over the years, Mexico and Switzerland. One very special time was their 50th Wedding Anniversary traveling to Hawaii.

She is survived by her daughter Dorenda Ayres of Andrews; grandchildren, Hether Ayres of Durango, CO, Milanda Marshall of Manakawkin, NJ, David Pearcy and wife Alysia of Port Angeles, WA; one great-grandchild Mackenzie Pearcy, and two cousins Doyle Combs and wife Barbara of Haltom, Texas.

Gwen is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Alcorn; daughter, Sandra Jean Pearcy and five halfbrothers.
