Clarence “Butch” William Cornelius

HIP-HIP HOORAY HALLELUJAH our beloved brother, Clarence “Butch” William Cornelius went on to Glory on Friday, September 27, 2019 at his home in Andrews, TX.

He was born in Cuba, NM on July 7, 1957 to Billie Dean and Wyvonne C. Cornelius. Being a child of an oilfield worker, he lived in NM, AZ, TX, CO, and KS. He moved to Andrews, TX in 1980. He married Betty G. Mayo on February 14, 1986. He worked at Andrews Lumber Co., Jody’s Oilfield Service Co., and Grimmett Bros. Excavating before retiring due to health issues. He was well known in the community and loved by everyone. His hobbies included fishing, remote controlled airplanes, model trains and racing miniature slot cars. He also loved to ride his motorcycle. He lived for the open road and the wind in his face.

He was preceded in death by his parents and spouse. He is survived by his sisters, Cassandra Savell and husband Michael of Andrews, their children Gina Smith, Carolyn Smith and husband Keegan, and Christopher Smith; Molly Hier and husband Frank of Over-brook, KS and their children Niki Hier, her sons Aubrey and Brayden, and Aubrey Hier and wife Theresa.

Celebration of Life Services has been scheduled for 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Second Baptist Church in Andrews, Texas with Bro. Kevin Covington officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Shriners Hospital. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and support staff of the Texas Oncology of Odessa for their tireless service to the care and treatment of our loved one Butch Cornelius.

Services are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home and Crematory.
