Carol Ruth Silva, 80, of Andrews, Texas went to be with the Lord Monday, September 13, 2021, she was at her home with her family in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Pastor Brant O’Conner of Andrews, officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.

Carol was born to Ellis Ray Alexander and Ruth Stevens Alexander in Alamogordo, New Mexico on November 20, 1940. She was one of six children in the family. She attended Alamogordo High School and began working at an early age of 15 for a drug store. In her hometown where she met and married the love of her life Sonny Silva on March 9, 1957. Carol worked several years at Brigg’s Jew elry, Andrews Flowers, and The Apple Core Gift Shop. Her home proudest professional achievement was opening her own business, Carol’s Flowers in 1982. Some of her fondest memories were teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church, in Andrews with her sister and best friend, Evelyn Hancock. She was a fabulous cook/baker, there is no way to count how many wonderful meals she made and delivered to family, friends, and those “under the weather,” and of course those in times of grief. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings, Joy Waterfield from Indiana, Evelyn Hancock of Andrews, Texas, Kelly Alexander, Ben Alexander, Ellis “Buddy” Alexander all of Alamogordo, New Mexico.

She is survived by her husband Sonny Silva, her sons Jaime Silva and wife Cathy of Andrews, and Marvin Paul Silva of San Angelo. Grandchildren are Casey J. Silva Saldivar and husband Jeff, of Andrews, Pecos, Gus and Socorra Silva, of San Angelo. Great Grand Children are Zach, Cameron, Sam, and Easton Saldivar of Andrews.
