She married Lloyd Bythel “Bill” Landes on June 23, 1946 in Stephenville. They lived in Dublin, Olney, and moved to Denver City in 1949. While in Denver City, she worked at Yoakum County State Bank, C.R. Anthony’s, a furniture store, and sewed for the public. But most of all, she was a loving and supportive wife, mother, and homemaker to her husband and her two children. She was loved by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she was known to them as “Mammy”. They moved to Comanche in 1992, and Bill preceded her in death on June 16, 1993. She moved to Andrews in 1994 to be closer to her daughter. While in Andrews, she was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was involved in the Victory Singers and the Adult 1 “Gleaners” Sunday School Class. Her faith, the church, and her family are what she lived for every day. She loved to have fun and always provided the laugh for everyone. She was spunky, sassy, and liked to give everyone a hard time. She enjoyed traveling and playing games, especially “42”.
