Amelia Gonzales Flores, age 77, of Andrews, Texas, passed away surrounded by her family, Sunday, October 16, 2022, in Andrews, Texas.

Family and friends gathered for a Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Friday, October 21, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews, TX. She was laid to rest at the Andrews North Cemetery. Visitation was held 5PM-7PM Thursday, October 20, 2022, followed by a Rosary from 7PM-9PM at the McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Mc-Nett Funeral Home.

Amelia was born May 30, 1945, in Grandfalls, Texas to Gabriel Gonzales and Francisca “Ramirez” Gonzales. She married Enrique “Henry” Flores May 6, 1962, and they spent 60 amazing years together. Amelia was known as “Grandma” by her family. Her whole life revolved around God, family, and especially her grandchildren. Amelia was tasked with raising her grandson Brandon Huertas and never batted an eye, because she loved her family and would do anything she needed to for them. She was an extremely fashionable woman, you would not see her out without looking her best. Grandma was also a fantastic cook, everyone always raved about her beans. She also had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening, she could pick a plant from outside and plant it and it would still thrive. Amelia was very sociable and always made it to the family gatherings. Grandma had a strong faith and was a prayer warrior for everyone. When she had spare time, she loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys Football game, and Bold & Beautiful. Amelia was a loving and faithful wife, amazing mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband: Henry Flores of Andrews, TX; sons: Rick Flores and wife Melissa of Andrews, TX; and Steve Flores and wife Julie of Crane, TX; daughters: Racheal Dominguez and husband Elifonso of Odessa, TX; Sylvia Flores of Crane, TX; and Dolores Ramirez of New Braunfels, TX; brothers: Estachio Gonzales and wife Amelia of Monahans, TX; Domingo Gonzales and wife Irene of Monahans, TX; Francisco Gonzales and wife Ester of Natalia, TX; and Jesse Gonzales and wife Elva of Monahans, TX; sister: Celerina Gonzales of El Paso, TX; her ally dog: Willy; 19 grandchildren; and 40 great grandchildren.

Amelia is preceded in death by her parents: Gabriel and Francisca Gonzales; daughter: Anita Martin; brother: Larry Gonzales and precious dog: Benji.
