After struggling early in the season, the Andrews Lady Mustangs basketball team fought their way into a fourth place finish in 2-4A, and a playoff berth.
After two impressive wins to open up play at the West Texas Shoot-out in Midland on Thursday, the Andrews Lady Mustangs continued their solid overall play, posting a 4-wins, 1-loss and 1-tie overall mark for the second tournament in a row.
In a span of three days, and armed with their entire team since basketball season is over, the Andrews Mustangs baseball team scored 49 runs and had strong pitching to go a perfect 5-wins and no-losses at the Brownwood Classic. Included in their five wins were ‘eye opening’ victories over Brownwood 7-2 and a 3-1 win over Jim Ned to end tourney play Saturday.
