Funeral services for Henry Cook, Jr., 70, of Andrews were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Cook passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at his home in Andrews.

Mr. Cook was born March 18, 1942 in Spring Hill Community (Denton County), to Ethel Margret and Henry Hudson Cook, Sr.

His family moved to Andrews from Rankin in 1952. Henry graduated from Andrews High School in 1960. He married Patsy Reed, Jan. 27, 1961 in Andrews. He worked for Andrews County for many years before working for Amoco and eventually retiring with them.

Henry served Andrews County as a volunteer firefighter since 1966; he served as captain, assistant chief and chief of the Andrews Fire Department. He went on inactive duty in 2006.  He loved to fish, hunt and shoot and he was a member of the Midland Shooters Club. He was a member of Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews. He loved his family and loved having his sons and grandchildren with him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ray Cook.

Henry is survived by his wife, Patsy Cook of Andrews; sons, James Todd Cook and his wife Shawn of Andrews; Tommy Cook and his wife Amy of Midland; Danny Cook and his wife Julie of Allan; one brother, Sam Cook and wife June of Haltom City; sister-in-law, Anita Nichols of Andrews; brother-in-law, James Reed and his wife Bianca of Aurora, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Chelsey Pollard and husband Clayton; Wacey Cook and wife Courtney; Jayton Cook; Caleb Cook; Kelly Schell; Turner Ingle; Paige Ingle; and Great-Grandchildren Connor and Averi Cook, Tessa Pollard and an anticipated great grandchild,  Bristol Pollard.
