The final two phases of the first major apartment complex to be constructed in Andrews in more than 30 years began last month and will provide 100 more units when the project is completed next summer, the Fort Worth area developer behind it said.
The project’s initial phase—involving 40 units, a clubhouse, pool and a seven-foot masonry fence—was completed approximately three years ago and the apartments have been filled since, according to developer Kelly Green.
Since that time, the local economy has thrived even more and the present demand for housing has also increased, officials have said. The city has also grown by leaps and bounds with population and many new to the area are challenged with finding living accommodations, they added.
Green feels the 100 apartment units included in the project’s second and third phases will help alleviate some of the present demand. The apartments are located off NW Ave. M behind the hospital’s quick care clinic on 6.7 acres Green purchased around five years ago for the investment.
