    Outfitted in his best cowboy hat and boots, and dressed like a character from a classic Elmer Kelton western novel, recently published author Troy Buck (or "Buck”, as he prefers to be called) is an Andrews native who started first grade at Glorieta Elementary School with young classmates who are now members of the Class of "63”. Buck’s dad, Zeddie, and his mother, Hulene, owned and operated Hulene’s Dry Cleaners across from the Andrews County Courthouse square for 15 years before the family relocated to East Texas in 1962 at the end of Buck’s Junior year at Andrews High School.

    This year’s local Relay for Life walk—held Friday night at the middle school track area—included five participating teams and an assortment of fund-raising activities, according to event co-chair Lila Batchelor.

     The Andrews High School Student Council invites the community to participate in the Homecoming Parade by entering a float representing the many spirited aspects of our community!
