Early voting for the Nov. 4 General Election is less than three weeks away and those in Precinct 3 will decide on the lone contested local race.
The Precinct 3 Commissioner race between three candidates is to fulfill an unexpired term left by former commissioner Hiram Hubert, who stepped down from the position in late March to pursue more traveling opportunities that are not conducive to a commissioner’s busy schedule, he said.
Following Hubert’s resignation, the Andrews County Judge appointed Jeneane Anderegg to take over the position in the interim period before the election. Hubert left with more than two years remaining on the term.
Anderegg, Bryan Hoffman and Eddie Grady, who all sought the interim position appointment, will appear on November’s General Election ballot as well.
Because Hubert’s resignation came after the March Primary Election, local political parties had the option of selecting a candidate to run for the position in November.
