The county judge honored outgoing Precinct 3 Commissioner Hiram Hubert and appointed Hubert’s replacement at Monday’s commissioners court meeting.
Jeneane Anderegg was appointed to replace former Precinct 3 Commissioner Hiram Hubert during Monday’s meeting.
Hubert, who submitted his resignation letter last week after serving in the role nine years, received a plaque from Andrews County Judge Richard Dolgener and a strawberry cake send-off. Hubert said last week his resignation stemmed from a desire to travel and play more golf—activities that wouldn’t be conducive to a commissioner’s busy schedule.
He made the final motion Monday to adjourn the meeting.
Dolgener also appointed Jeneane Anderegg as Hubert’s replacement in the interim period before the next election.
Anderegg is the county’s first female commissioner, according to county officials. Dolgener said he received approximately five applications for the position, which pays around $73,000 annually, along with a benefits package.
The county judge believes Anderegg will be a “good asset” to the community. Dolgener said her interview stood out among the five applicants.
